5 Old School Playstation 1 Favorites

PlayStation 1 was released in the market in the year 1996. And even if there have been other PlayStation versions released in the market today, there are plenty of games that made their mark and became famous in PlayStation 1 and are still played by gamers today. Thus, these games will continue to be all-time favorites or classics to most players everywhere. Here are some of my son’s favorite PlayStation1 games that never grew old to him.

1. Metal Gear Solid

This adventure game of epic proportions has already been in this industry for more than two years now, and still continues to send chills down players’ spines! Metal Gear Solid is all about stealth. Why bother fighting with enemies or guards, when you can easily just sneak around behind their backs, crawl along walls, stay out of sight from surveillance cameras and hide behind boxes? In this game, players have learned one simple lesson: living by the gun means dying by the gun.

2. Final Fantasy VII

Final Fantasy VII is considered one of the finest role-playing games, and at the same time, one of the best Japanese RPGs in years. It has achieved a striking balance of old and new, and juggled fan service with pure role-playing satisfaction. These characteristics have been shaped into such an appealing and emotionally affecting prequel that players have learned to empathize with the characters, both old and new, no matter how evil, complex or troubled they may be.

3. Legend of the Dragoon

Another RPG that relies heavily on defending that was released by Sony after Final Fantasy VII hit the streets, Legend of the Dragoon tried to avoid using magic altogether. Instead, it relied on the character having to gain strength to be able to perform stronger attacks and eventually have the ability to transform into Dragoons. It is only as a Dragoon where you can use magic.

4. Tony Hawk Pro Skater

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater takes a more arcade-like approach to the world of skating with the objective of collecting videotapes (just like how Mario collects stars). It features real-life pro skaters who have slightly different tricks, with each skater having their own special trick as well. It’s really one of those games that will keep you coming back long after you’ve mastered it already.

5. Tekken

Known as the classic PlayStation fighter, Tekken is a next generation brawler classic. Even if there has had plenty of versions of this game already, Tekken is still considered an excellent game in its own right, and everyone would agree that even if the backgrounds are flat and lifeless, the action and control are smooth and the characters look pretty good in a basic sort of way. All in all, it is an excellent game, and it still deserves to be regarded as such.

Well, as my son always say, “Old games never die. Nor they fade away.” Good job for all those out there who still own the working original Sony PlayStation. Do you still have a “working” one?

Sony DCR-DVD650 DVD Handycam Camcorder

Specifications: There are many of us who still love to watch our home videos on DVDs and fortunately, there are still a handful of camcorders in the market that records videos straight into DVDs. The Sony DCR-DVD650 DVD Handycam camcorder does just that and also have the option of recording to a flash card or its 16GB internal memory. This model comes with a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens, 2000x of digital zoom and 60x of optical zoom. It has a 2.7-inch rotating LCD display and ships with a AC adapter, battery pack, AV cable, USB cable and its application software.

Design: The Sony DCR-DVD650 DVD Handycam camcorder measures at 2.2 x 5.1 x 3.5 inches and weighs at just 13.8 ounces. Although it is still quite portable, it is a little bulkier than other camcorders. This is due to the fact that it has to accommodate a DVD in it. For a DVD camcorder, it is pretty compact. It sport Sony‘s signature design features, with rounded curves, and decorated by shades of black, silver and gray.

Features & Performance: One of my favorite features on the Sony DCR-DVD650 DVD Handycam camcorder is the old fashioned ‘optical viewfinder’ that is quite uncommon in camcorders nowadays. When you are low on battery. The ‘optical viewfinder’ lets you shoot videos without using the LCD display. The camera is automatically switched on when you flip out the LCD screen and it comes with a zoom microphone.

The zoom microphone automatically focuses on the subjects that you are shooting, minimizing the effects of background noises. The quality of the videos at night could be improved (but maybe I haven’t found the right settings yet), the those taken under regular lighting conditions were very clear and sharp. At the time of writing, the Sony DCR-DVD650 DVD Handycam camcorder is price at around $280 each, which is quite reasonable. As far as DVD camcorders go, it is currently one of the best in the market.

One of the most well-known brands of camcorders on the market today is the Sony handycam. For years, Sony has proven to be a leader in all branches of the electronics industry and the camcorder arena is one where they have become a major player.

The world of digital camcorders is being led by the handycam and its advanced science. This camcorder comes in many different styles to fit the life of the most savvy, high tech guru or to help simplify the life of even the most technologically challenged individuals.

A Sony handycam is not a specific type of camcorder; it is simply the brand name of Sony‘s line of various camcorders. Individuals have many options when it comes to choosing the perfect digital handycam. A person can purchase one that uses a tape, a mini DVD disc, a hard drive, or one that uses a memory stick to house the recorded memories. All are great, but if a person is not so tech savvy, then the Mini DV type that uses a tape is a good choice for any novice.

A Sony camcorder also has many other attractive incentives to entice a consumer to purchase one. They are relatively easy and simple to use no matter what type of camcorder a person chooses to purchase. They are also very high tech and relatively inexpensive when a person considers other camcorders that are on the market.

A person can have the best possible camcorder and “still” camera all in one for less than one thousand dollars. The quality is excellent and user reviews give these brands of camcorders a seven out of ten at most review websites.

A Sony handycam is one investment that most people will not be sorry about. These attractive and reasonably priced camcorders are just one reason why Sony has become a leader in high tech devices that focus on capturing memories. No longer does a person have to rely on faded pictures. Thanks to these great brands of camcorders, an individual can store their memories with a click of a button!

Nintendo Wii – Way Above The Others

Today there are many gaming consoles available in the market and one has the luxury to pick and choose. However, out of all the gaming consoles, the Sony Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 are the most popular. What many people do not know is that the Nintendo Wii is also a gaming console worth its while and it has many features that merit mention.

The Nintendo Wii, as suggested by the name, was launched by Nintendo. The reason why this gaming console is so popular among avid gamers as well as casual ones is because of its intuitive control. For most of us, intuitive control really does not mean much unless we take the time to understand it. In ordinary language, the remote of Nintendo Wii has motion sensors that can detect motion in three dimension and the movements of the player’s body get interpreted directly unto the screen using sophisticated Bluetooth technology. This means that players using this gaming console do not have to press buttons in order to make moves in a game and this turns out be more interesting and further enhances the fun element of any game.

Nowadays there are many games available for the Nintendo Wii and there is no doubt that those passionate about their gaming will definitely enjoy the experience as they can relate to the developments occurring in the virtual world of the game.

Today gaming is no longer the forte of the young. All age groups, including seniors and elders, are enjoying the gaming experience. Even the most simplistic game can be enjoyed on a Nintendo and most people think that is what sets this gaming console apart from other consoles.
